THE PRIVATE LIFE OF A CAT with new score by Mike Shoun
Pointing a camera at a kitty is an instinct basically as old as cinema itself, and we’re thrilled to screen Alexander Hammid and pioneering filmmaker Maya Deren’s 1944 ode to her two cats and their litter of kittens, with an original score performed live by San Francisco mainstay Mike Shoun!
The First Annual Colonel Meow In Memoriam Award for Exquisite Grooming and Style: A Tribute to Owlbert
He’s part cat, part owl, all mustache. Join us as we toast Owlbert, the dapper cat with the flair for debonair, and present him with The First Annual Colonel Meow In Memoriam Award for Exquisite Grooming and Style. Director Mye Hoang (Viette) and producer Dave Boyle (Surrogate Valentine, White on Rice) will screen a selection of Owlbert-starring shorts and will join Owlbert on stage for a Q&A. We’re super excited!
